CALIFORNIA UTILITY ENERGY EFFICIENCY

• The State's electric and gas utilities must provide low-income energy efficiency services if a significant need exists in the utility's service territory.   Includes utility appliance programs (energy efficient refrigerators, water heaters, ranges, furnaces) and utility energy efficiency inspections.  The Low-Income Energy Efficiency Program's proposed 2001 budget, under electric utility restructuring, is $56m.
