Duke Energy Supports Fuel Funds in Five States

The Duke Energy Foundation has contributed $400,000 to its Share the Warmth program
in North and South Carolina.

The program provides financial assistance for heating bills during the winter season for low-income families within the Duke Energy service territory in the Carolinas. Since the program's establishment in 1985, it has provided over $21 million in heating bill assistance.

In addition, the utility announced a $400,000 contribution to energy assistance programs in its mid-west service area, including: $200,000 for the Helping Hand program in Indiana, $150,000 for HeatShare in Ohio, and $50,000 for WinterCare in Kentucky. These programs also provide energy assistance grants to low-income and elderly customers.
