Sen. Gary Hart to be NEUAC Keynote Speaker

Former Colorado Senator Gary Hart will be the keynote speaker at the National Energy and Utility Affordability Conference (NEUAC) June 16-18 in Denver. Senator Hart will discuss the implications of U.S. energy policy for the country’s most vulnerable persons. 

The NEUAC merges the annual conferences of the National Fuel Funds Network and National Low Income Energy Consortium to create the largest national gathering of the low-income energy community.  The event will be at the Sheraton Denver Hotel and will be preceded by the annual meeting of the National Energy Assistance Directors’ Association on Sunday June 15 and 16. 

Other featured speakers include Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper; Ray Gogel, Cief Administrative Officer of Xcel Energy; Kateri Callahan, President  of Alliance to Save Energy; Robert Greenstein, the founder and Executive Director of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities; Rafe Pomerance, President of Clean Air –Cool Planet; John Howat, attorney with the National Consumer Law Center; Alan Nogee, Clean Energy Program Director of the Union of Concerned Scientists; Jim Sims, President and CEO of the Western Business Roundtable and attorney Carlos Fierro, of Alcalde & Fay, who has been counsel to both Senator John McCain and Representative Tom Udall. 

 More than 600 people are expected to attend the conference, which also showcase 62 workshops and 20 hot topic sessions, vendor exhibits, the NFFN Media Fair and awards from both NFFN and the National Low Income Energy Consortium.
